1.    Why should I pay for your training & equipment?

Hood Cleaning SchoolTM specializes in “in the field”, “on the job”, “Total Immersion”,  “live one on one training”.  If you want to be a successful kitchen grease exhaust cleaning company, then you’re not going to do it sitting in a classroom listening to someone tell you how to clean hoods and then take you on a tour and let you watch other people clean hoods.

What you need to ask our competitors is, “How many hoods am I going to get to clean from start to finish by myself while I’m attending your school?”  We are the only school that provides such intensive one on one training in the field on kitchen grease exhaust cleaning.  No other school provides such intensive in the field training.  If you want to learn how to start your kitchen exhaust cleaning business, then our training here at Hood Cleaning School will absolutely be the best option for you.  Back to Top

2.    How do I become a Certified Hood & Duct Cleaner from Hood Cleaning School?

3.    What does certification mean?

When you are a “Certified Hood & Duct Cleaner” it means that you have been properly trained, are now qualified and have obtained certification from Certified Hood & Duct Cleaners Association using the NFPA 96 Standards as our guidelines.  Also, the AHJ, authority having jurisdiction,  will recognize that you are “qualified” to clean the kitchen grease exhaust system’s of commercial cooking establishments.  It means that you have attained a certain knowledge/skill level in the field of kitchen grease exhaust cleaning, which should hold them responsible as a competent Hood & Duct Cleaner.  The “authority having jurisdiction” will either be the Fire Marshal or other person given the task of verifying that the commercial cooking establishments are having their hoods and ducts cleaned properly.  It also means that you have passed the 140 written question exam from Certified Hood & Duct Cleaners Association.  To renew your certification each year, you simply submit 10 before/after pictures sets from 10 different restaurants, and proof of insurance.  You will have to pay $250 each year to renew your Annual Certification, or you can select to renew for 2 or 3 years.     Back to Top

7.    What makes your training better than the others?

You are trained live in the field on the roof at night in real world situations.  Our personalized training teaches you a unique method of cleaning restaurant hood and duct systems, which will allow you to run your business as a 1 person highly profitable business.  You are also taught about sales and marketing and how to get and keep your new restaurant hood and duct cleaning jobs.  If you can’t get the jobs and keep them, then it doesn’t help if you can clean the hoods.   If you learn from the competition you will be just like all the other Hood and Duct cleaning companies that exist and will have no competitive edge with your bidding.  With our system, there are no payroll taxes, or the hassle of hiring/ firing people to clean your restaurants.  Because it is just you running your business there will be no expenses related to renting office space, office equipment, computers, phone lines, property taxes etc.  You will run your business from your home usually, which will allow you to significantly increase your profit margin.  In short you will get the best training and start your business making a profit from the start.  Back to Top

13.  I want to bring a partner?  How much does that cost?

Please refer to our Business Partner Policy if you intend to bring any other person besides your spouse to the training.  As you will see when you are here during your training, this is really a one person business.  The partnerships that we have seen others try to form rarely work out.  Therefore, if you intend to bring any other person besides your spouse to your training, we need a legal business partnership agreement, notarized with a clear dissolution provision written into the agreement.  If you need help, we recommend www.legalzoom.com for all your legal requirements or your personal attorney.  This business was specifically designed for husband/wife teams, and these have been our strongest winning combinations.  Back to Top
